San Miguel tops Forbes list of best employers in the Philippines

San Miguel Corp. (SMC) has emerged as the top Philippine company in this year’s World’s Best Employers list compiled by Forbes magazine.

SMC, which employs over 56,600 people, ranked 42nd worldwide among 900 companies on the 2025 list,  a strong improvement from its No. 89 spot last year.

The conglomerate operates across multiple industries, including food and beverages, packaging, energy, fuel and oil, and infrastructure.

Ayala Corp., the country’s oldest business group, followed at No. 139, while Metrobank and Land Bank ranked 154th and 187th, respectively.

LT Group Inc. was listed at No. 421, Century Pacific Group at No. 453, Jollibee Foods Corp. at No. 455, BDO Unibank at No. 585, and Cebu Pacific at No. 770.

Globally, Microsoft topped the Forbes ranking, followed by Delta Air Lines and Alphabet, with Adobe, BMW Group, NVIDIA, Sony, IBM, Apple, and Lego Group completing the top 10.

Forbes partnered with Statista to survey more than 300,000 employees in over 50 countries, rating employers on salary, career growth, work-life balance, and company reputation.
