San Miguel Foods sees strong start in 2025, thanks to everyday Filipino faves

SAN Miguel Foods kicked off 2025 on a high note, showing that everyday essentials like chicken, hotdogs, coffee, and dairy continue to be big hits with Filipino households.

In the first quarter of the year, the food division of San Miguel Food and Beverage Inc. earned P46.3 billion in revenue — an 8 percent jump year-on-year.

Even more impressive, profits climbed 83 percent, helped by strong demand and more efficient operations.

The biggest boost came from its poultry business, which saw growth in the high teens. But it wasn’t just the chicken doing the heavy lifting — familiar names like Purefoods, Magnolia dairy and coffee, and its line of flour products also held steady.

What’s behind the growth?

A mix of steady demand and better production processes, according to the company. Basically, people are still buying the same trusted products — and San Miguel Foods has found ways to make and deliver them more efficiently.

Despite rising costs and economic challenges, the numbers suggest that Filipino consumers are sticking with the brands they know, especially when it comes to food.

Meanwhile, San Miguel Brewery reported P36.3 billion in sales, with net income inching up 1 percent to P6.6 billion.

Ginebra San Miguel generated P16.3 billion in revenues, also up 8 percent, while net income grew 11 percent to P2.1 billion.

While the company continues to invest in growing its reach and improving logistics, it’s clear that what’s working right now is pretty simple: good food and beverages, familiar names, and reliable supply.
