San Miguel Corp. wins big at global awards for CSR, sustainability

SAN MIGUEL Corporation (SMC) received top international recognition for its efforts in helping communities and taking care of the environment.

At the 2025 Global Good Governance (3G) Awards held in Brunei, SMC won two major honors: the 3G Leadership Award in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and the 3G Best Sustainability Reporting award.

The 3G Awards are organized by Cambridge International Finance Advisory (Cambridge IFA), a UK-based group that honors companies around the world for their good governance, transparency, and support for sustainability.

It is given to companies with consistent, high-impact programs that help communities. The sustainability reporting award recognizes those who go beyond what’s required by law, by clearly reporting their impact on the environment and explaining how these efforts are part of their business goals.

Professor Humayon Dar, chair of the 3G Awards committee, congratulated SMC chairman and CEO Ramon S. Ang, calling the win a “huge achievement.”

Ang said the award is proof that SMC is not only growing as a business, but also trying to make a real difference in people’s lives.

“To be counted among the world’s most respected and successful companies is a big honor,” Ang said. “We have always believed in growing with purpose — to be a force for good and help in nation-building.”

In recent years, SMC has rolled out long-term programs focused on disaster response, environmental protection, food security, livelihood, and infrastructure development.

The 3G Awards have previously been held in cities like London, Istanbul, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, Dubai, and Manila. This year marks the awards’ 10th anniversary.
