Roque fires back at accuser, denies role in fake ‘polvoron’ drug video

FORMER presidential spokesperson Harry Roque denied accusations linking him to the fake “polvoron video” that allegedly showed President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. using illegal drugs.

The video went viral in mid-2024 but was later debunked by cybercrime experts from the PNP and NBI, who confirmed it was not Marcos in the clip.

Vlogger Vicente “Pebbles” Cunanan earlier told a House tri-committee that Roque was the source of the edited video and shared it during a private dinner with pro-Duterte vloggers. Roque, speaking from the Netherlands where he is seeking asylum, dismissed the claims, calling Cunanan a political turncoat.

“He used to be a Marcos critic. Now he’s a defender. What changed?” Roque asked, also downplaying Cunanan’s affidavit which quoted him as saying he could topple a government. “Let’s not exaggerate. It’s public frustration that can bring this government down—not me,” he said.

Roque and vlogger Maharlika questioned Cunanan’s motives and credibility, suggesting he was being used in a political smear campaign. Roque maintained he had nothing to do with the video and warned against using disinformation to distract from real national issues.
