Romualdez urges unity, compassion in Christmas message

HOUSE Speaker Martin Romualdez extended his heartfelt Christmas greetings to Filipino families across the globe, calling for unity, compassion, and faith as the nation reflects on the challenges and triumphs of the past year.

In his message, Romualdez emphasized the enduring Filipino spirit of resilience, which has prevailed amid a year marked by natural disasters and divisive political events.

He urged Filipinos to embody the true essence of Christmas by rising above differences and focusing on shared values.

“Christmas reminds us of what truly matters—faith, family, and compassion. The true spirit of Christmas is not measured by material wealth but by the hope, love, and unity we bring to one another,” he said.

Acknowledging the hardships faced by many, especially those impacted by successive calamities, Romualdez lauded the acts of kindness and bayanihan that continue to inspire and uplift communities. He called on Filipinos to share their blessings, time, and hearts, noting that even small gestures of compassion can brighten lives.

As the New Year approaches, Romualdez encouraged hope and optimism, urging Filipinos to work together for a brighter, more prosperous Philippines. “Through unity and cooperation, we can achieve a more peaceful and progressive nation,” he said.

“May the light of Christmas fill your homes and hearts with peace, love, and joy. Mabuhay ang Pilipinas at ang sambayanang Pilipino,” he concluded.
