Romualdez mourns fallen PAF pilots, vows support for AFP

SPEAKER Martin Romualdez mourned the tragic loss of two Philippine Air Force (PAF) pilots whose aircraft crashed in Bukidnon.

Joining the Marcos administration and the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) in mourning the death of Maj. Jude Salang-oy and 1Lt. April John Dadulla, Romualdez extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families.

Salang-oy and Dadulla were onboard the Philippine Air Force (PAF) FA-50PH fighter jet that crashed in Bukidnon.

They were reported missing shortly after midnight Tuesday, after the aircraft lifted off from Mactan, Cebu to support ground troops against communist rebels.

“These pilots were more than just soldiers; they were sons, brothers, and fathers who sacrificed their lives for the country,” Speaker Romualdez said.

“Their final flight carried the hopes of every Filipino for a safe, peaceful, and prosperous nation.”

Romualdez emphasized that their sacrifice underscores the need for national unity and vowed that Congress would continue to strengthen the AFP to honor their service.

“Their sacrifice is a reminder that the fight for peace and security is not just for our soldiers—it is the fight of every Filipino against fear, violence, and oppression,” he added.

Assuring support for the pilots’ families, Speaker Romualdez called them heroes and affirmed that President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s government would provide assistance.

“To all our soldiers—whether in the air, on land, or at sea—we salute you. Your courage and dedication ensure our nation’s freedom. Maraming salamat sa inyong serbisyo,” he said.
