FINANCE Secretary Ralph Recto on Monday dismissed talk that he is set to replace Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin.
“There is no offer. My marching orders today is Department of Finance,” Recto told reporters when asked about the rumored Cabinet shake-up.
Pressed on whether he had heard discussions about Bersamin being replaced, he replied: “I hear talks from you guys.”
“There is no offer, there is nothing to accept. I remain as DOF,” the secretary added.
Recto also said he has no knowledge of, nor involvement in, any meeting regarding possible changes in President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s Cabinet.
A report earlier claimed Recto was being eyed to succeed Bersamin, while Assistant to the President for Investment and Economic Affairs Frederick Go would allegedly take over the DOF portfolio.
Bersamin has likewise denied that he is resigning or being replaced.
