BUSINESS tycoon Enrique Razon has challenged Cavite 4th District Rep. Francisco “Kiko” Barzaga to explain the source of his family’s wealth, as tensions escalated following the filing of cyberlibel complaints against the lawmaker.
In a statement released on January 14, 2026, coinciding with his filing of two counts of cyberlibel against Barzaga, Razon said the congressman should publicly account for how his family accumulated its wealth.
“Barzaga should explain where their wealth comes from. He is a politician from a family that is only in politics—how did they become wealthy? Where does the cash that he posts in pictures come from?” Razon said.
Razon went on to question Barzaga’s fitness to remain in office, saying, “He belongs in another kind of institution, not Congress.”
The statement came amid a growing public feud between the two, triggered by Barzaga’s earlier accusations linking Razon to alleged bribery and corruption involving lawmakers.
Razon formally lodged cyberlibel complaints against Barzaga on Wednesday, citing the congressman’s repeated tirades and insinuations regarding his supposed dealings with members of the House of Representatives.
In a Facebook post dated January 6, Barzaga alleged that lawmakers affiliated with the National Unity Party (NUP) received bribes in exchange for supporting Leyte 1st District Rep. and former House Speaker Martin Romualdez, claims that Razon has strongly denied.
