KINUWESTYON ni Deputy Speaker at Quezon Rep. David “Jayjay” Suarez ang diumano’y biased at leading question na ginamit ng Pulse Asia sa kanyang survey hinggil sa isinusulong na Charter Change.
Ayon kay Suarez, hindi patas ang survey questions na ginamit ng Pulse Asia dahil sa nagdudulot ito ng pagkalito sa mga tinatanong hinggil sa aspeto ng constitutional reform.
“The phrasing of the questions by Pulse Asia seemed crafted to steer respondents towards a specific viewpoint on Charter amendments,” ayon kay Suarez sa isang kalatas.
Tinutukoy ng kongresista ang ginawang survey ng Pulse Asia noong Marso 6-10, 2024, kung saan 88 porsiyento ng mga Pinoy ang tutol sa pag-amyenda ng Konstitusyon, habang 8 porsyento lamang ang pabor dito at 4 porsyento naman ang sumagot nang hindi nila alam.
Giit ni Suarez, ang ginawang mga tanong ay hindi akma sa kasalukuyang tinatalakay sa Kongreso, gaya ng isyu ng pagbabago ng unitary systen sa federal system of government, term extension for national and local elective officials, changing the presidential system sa parliamentary system ng gobyerno at paglipat sa unicameral legislature sa kasalukuyang bicameral.
“The survey questions, particularly those addressing contentious issues such as term extension, foreign exploitation of natural resources, and a shift from a presidential to a parliamentary system of government, may have inadvertently skewed responses and fostered opposition to Cha-cha,” ayon sa mambabatas.
Anya hindi tugma ang mga tanong sa isinusulong nilang pagbabago ng probisyon sa Konstitusyon na nakatutok lan sa usaping ekonomiya at hindi pulitikal.
“The wording of survey questions should accurately reflect the actual provisions being proposed for amendment,” giit nito.
