COMEDIENNE and host Pokwang has publicly apologized after a viral video showed her younger brother involved in a physical altercation with a man pushing a cart in Antipolo City.
The incident reportedly occurred in Brgy. San Roque Tulay when a cart pusher with a child allegedly scratched a white pickup.
The pickup’s driver, later identified as Pokwang’s brother, allegedly got out of his vehicle and slapped the man, prompting bystanders to intervene and break up the fight.
On Tuesday, December 16, Pokwang released a video confirming her brother’s identity and expressing regret over his actions.
Nag-viral siya,” she said.
She emphasized that her brother’s actions do not reflect her own values.
She also extended her apologies to the father, his child, and the public. Pasensya ka na,” she said.
Pokwang expressed disappointment toward those who posted photos of her family online, warning that these could constitute cyberbullying or cyberlibel.
“Paalala ko lang din po, doon sa mga nag-post pa nang paulit-ulit ng mukha nung pamilya ko may tinatawag po tayong cyber bullying at cyber libel,” she said, cautioning even politicians who shared the images.
She concluded her statement by stressing she does not condone her brother’s behavior and urged the public to respect her family online.
Meanwhile, the Land Transportation Office has suspended her brother’s driver’s license for 90 days and issued a show-cause order.
