FORMER executive secretary Lucas Bersamin on Wednesday said the country is “safer” under President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. amid calls from some groups for Vice President Sara Duterte to replace him over corruption and drug-related issues.
Bersamin said Mr. Marcos remains focused on his work and is the “most qualified” to run the government.
He added that during his three years working with the President, he witnessed how Mr. Marcos pushed to improve the lives of Filipinos.
“‘Yung focus na focus siya kung magtrabaho,” Bersamin said.
He clarified that he was not belittling the Vice President’s abilities but maintained that keeping President Marcos in office would be better for the country.
“I am not disparaging ang kakayahan ng Vice President, but I think it is safer for the Philippines to stay with President Marcos,” he said.
