THE Bureau of Immigration (BI) recorded over 19 million travelers in 2024, marking a robust recovery in international travel.
Of the 14.5 million arrivals, 7.9 million were Filipinos and 6.6 million were foreign nationals.
Departures totaled 15 million, with 8.3 million Filipinos and 6.7 million foreign nationals leaving the country.
Commissioner Joel Anthony Viado credited the surge to international travel resumption and the Department of Tourism’s campaign to attract foreign tourists.
“These figures reflect a thriving travel industry and highlight the Philippines’ growing reputation as a global hub for tourism and business,” Viado said Tuesday. (PNA)
