NAGKASUNDO ang pamahalaan ng Pilipinas at ang National Democratic Front na muling buhayin ang natenggang usapang pangkapayapaan para tuluyang wakasan ang ilang dekada nang insurgency sa bansa.
Ayon sa Malacañang nitong Martes, nagsimulang mag-usap “informally” sa The Netherlands at Norway ang dalawang partido matapos pumagitna ang Royal Norwegian Government.
Nitong Nov. 23, 2023, ay nakabuo na ng consensus ang dalawang partido para ituloy ang naudlot na peace talks, ayon sa Presidential Communications Office.
Napagkasunduan ng dalawang partido na kailangang magkaisa lalo ngayon na nahaharap ang bansa sa foreign security threats.
“Cognizant of the serious socioeconomic and environmental issues, and the foreign security threats facing the country, the parties recognize the need to unite as a nation in order to urgently address these challenges and resolve the reasons for the armed conflict,” ayon sa nilagdaang joint communique na ipinost sa Facebook.
“The parties agree to a principled and peaceful resolution of the armed conflict,” dagdag pa nito.
Nilagdaan ito nina Special Assistant to the President Secretary Antonio Ernesto F. Lagdameo Jr.; Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation and Unity Secretary Carlito G. Galvez Jr.; and Gen Emmanuel T. Bautista (Ret.) mula sa panig ng pamahalaan at NDFP na represented ni National Executive Council Member Luis G. Jalandoni; Negotiating Panel Interim Chairperson Julieta de Lima; at Panel Member Coni K. Ledesma.
