PBBM urges public to use torotot on New Year

PRESIDENT Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. urged the public to avoid using fireworks to welcome the New Year, citing safety concerns and the risk of accidents.

In his latest vlog, Marcos encouraged Filipinos to abandon the long-standing tradition of firecracker use and instead opt for safer ways of celebrating with their families.

“Mag-ingat sa mga paputok. Iwasan na natin ’yan,” the President said. “Doon tayo sa mga torotot at iba pang maingay na mga laruan para kompleto at masaya ang pagsalubong natin sa darating na Bagong Taon.”

Marcos emphasized that a peaceful and accident-free celebration was more important than the fleeting excitement brought by dangerous fireworks.

He has repeatedly called for public cooperation in minimizing firecracker-related injuries, particularly during the holiday season.
