THE Pasig City government has ordered the closure of nine companies linked to controversial contractors Curlee and Sarah Discaya.
In a statement on Friday, the Office of the City Administrator said the business permits of the firms were revoked over “serious and repeated violations.”
These included more than P1.1 billion in unpaid taxes, operating without an occupancy permit, and a revoked Philippine Contractors Accreditation Board (PCAB) license.
City officials did not immediately identify which of the Discaya-owned companies were affected by the shutdown.
The Discayas have yet to issue their statement.
The Office of the Ombudsman has earlier ordered the filing of graft charges against Sarah Discaya, St. Timothy Construction president Ma. Roma Angeline Rimando, and several Department of Public Works and Highways officials in connection with the alleged anomalous P96.5 million flood control project in Barangay Culaman, Jose Abad Santos town, Davao Occidental.
