Palace: Marcos stable, under medical observation after discomfort

PRESIDENT Ferdinand Marcos Jr. remains in stable condition but is under medical observation after experiencing discomfort on Wednesday night, Malacañang said Thursday.

Palace Press Officer Claire Castro, during a Palace briefing, said that the President spent the night under observation as a precaution, following his doctors’ advice to rest and undergo monitoring.

“The President spent the night under medical observation as a precautionary measure after experiencing discomfort. His doctors advised rest and monitoring, and his condition remains stable,” Castro said.

Castro said she was not informed of the specific nature of the discomfort but assured the public there was no cause for concern. She added that Marcos has continued working despite the incident.

“Kailangan lang din po naming masabi sa inyo kung ano po ‘yung naranasan ng Pangulo kagabi dahil kahit noong madaling araw ay nagtatrabaho ang Pangulo,” she said.

“Malamang po ang naranasan niya ay sobrang pagod sa pagta-trabaho.”

The Palace official said Marcos has since returned to Malacañang and is scheduled to hold two private meetings Thursday afternoon.

Marcos skipped the Outstanding Young Men 2025 awarding ceremony earlier in the day, where Executive Secretary Ralph Recto represented him.

Castro said the President’s public engagements on Friday may proceed, depending on his doctors’ recommendations.
