P10.4B illegal drugs nasamsam noong 2023

Shown in the photograph 01 August is a tiny plastic packet containing the banned drug metamphetamine hydrochloride locally known as "shabu", and elsewhere as "ice", worth 500 pesos (18.00 USD), weighing about half gram which is sold to drug users. Drug addicts inhale the smoke when the crystalline powder is melted by a flame. President Fidel Ramos has launched an all-out war against illegal drugs particularly against shabu which has alarmingly spread all over the country.

“The Marcos administration had reported confiscating around P10.41 billion worth of illegal drugs from January to December 2023 and cleared more than 27,000 barangays of narcotics under President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s new approach to address the menace,” ayon sa isang kalatas ng Presidential Communications Office.
