TALENT manager and content creator Ogie Diaz proudly shared that one of his daughters is now a step closer to becoming a doctor.
In a Facebook post on May 31, Diaz posted photos of his daughter Godhie and recalled how he had always seen great potential in her, even as a child.
“Konting flex lang ‘to. Pasensiya na. Proud dad lang ang Mama Ogs n’yo,” he wrote.
Diaz shared that at just three years old, Godhie could memorize her mother’s favorite songs with ease, including choreography to Madonna’s hits, while jumping from one sofa to another.
“Sa loob-loob ko noon, ‘Mukhang magiging lawyer or doctor ang anak kong ito someday.’ Kasi nga, kailangang matalas ang memorya sa mga ganu’ng propesyon, eh,” he added.
Now 21, Godhie is determined to pursue her dream of becoming an OB-GYN, inspired by her godmother, Dr. Cecille I. Perez, who was also the first to see her when she was born.
He shared how their daughter is also motivated to graduate with honors so she and her mother could join her on stage.
“And as proud parents, kasama kami ng mama niya sa kanyang journey para tuparin ang kanyang pangarap na maging doktor,” he added.
On May 27, Diaz and his wife attended the 11th Medical Technology White Coat and Pinning Ceremony, marking the start of Godhie’s hospital internship.
Diaz said he grew emotional while watching his daughter deliver the “Oath of Loyalty to the Faculty and to the Profession” and give her speech as the incoming president of the Organization of MT Interns.
He also revealed that her boyfriend, who is in the same class, shares the same dream of becoming a doctor.
“Bagay sila at sana nga ay sila na rin ang magkatuluyan sa ending pagkatapos nilang patunayan sa mundo na kaya na nila habang nakamasid lang kaming mga parents,” he said.
As a parent, Diaz said he constantly reminds his daughter to take care of her health despite her heavy academic load.
“Anak, easy ka lang, ha? No pressure from us. Bawi-bawi ka rin sa pahinga. Yung vitamins mo, don’t forget. Don’t skip meals, ha?” he wrote.
“Tandaan mo, ang pangarap mo ay maging doktor, hindi maging pasyente.”
