CUSTOMERS of the Manila Electric Co. (Meralco) will see higher electricity bills this month following a P0.23 per kilowatt-hour (kWh) rate increase.
The adjustment brings the overall rate to P13.3182/kWh, up from P13.0851 per kWh in September.
For a typical household consuming 200 kWh, this means an additional P47 in the monthly electricity bill.
Meralco stated that the increase was primarily due to a higher generation charge, which rose by P0.1903 per kWh due to increased costs from power suppliers.
