PRESIDENT Ferdinand Marcos Jr. welcomed San Miguel Corp. (SMC) president and CEO Ramon Ang’s offer to help ease flooding in Metro Manila.
“Thank you,” Marcos said at a press conference when asked about Ang’s proposal. “This is the reason why the private sector needs to be part of our national development.”
Ang, in a news conference last August 8, suggested clearing waterways and relocating houses and other structures built along riverbanks, which he said obstruct the natural flow of water.
Ako po, San Miguel, Ramon Ang, nagbo-volunteer ako ngayon. Ako na ang tutulong sa buong Metro Manila ma-solve ang baha, at no cost to the people, at no cost to the government,” Ang said.
