Marcos on selfie with Guo: It doesn’t prove anything

PRESIDENT Ferdinand Marcos Jr. dismissed suggestions that he knows Bamban, Tarlac  Mayor Alice Guo based on his photos with her, stressing that he never turns down people who ask him for selfies.

Marcos made the statement when asked to comment on Guo’s Facebook post which showed them together during an event, after claiming earlier that he did not know the mayor who is being linked to illegal gaming operations.

“That proves nothing. You know how many pictures I take during a campaign? Siguro isang libo sa isang araw,” he told reporters.

“Lahat naman ng humihingi ng selfie hindi ko naman hinihindian so it doesn’t really mean anything,” the President added.

The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) earlier urged the Office of the Ombudsman to suspend Guo in connection with a Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (Pogo) in the province.

The Senate is investigating Guo over the possibility that she is a Chinese “asset” trained to infiltrate the Philippine government. (GP)
