Marcos: NPC, PFP alliance ‘not a marriage of convenience’

PRESIDENT Ferdinand Marcos Jr. said that the new alliance between his Partido Federal Pilipinas (PFP) and the Nationalist People’s Coalition (NPC) is “not a marriage of convenience” intended for the 2025 midterm elections but a “collaboration to work on the urgent needs of the Filipinos.”

Marcos made the statement during the formal signing of the two party’s alliance in Makati City on Saturday.

“Although we aspire for electoral triumph, let us keep in mind that our ultimate aspiration goes beyond political victory. It is a yearning for something transformative. Let our alliance usher in a new era of good governance,” he said.

The NPC is the second major political party to recently join forces with PFP.

Last week, the Marcos-led political party

signed an alliance agreement with the Lakas-Christian, Muslim, Democrats (Lakas-CMD), which is led by his cousin Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez. (GP)
