Marcos: Naranasan ko rin masiksik sa MRT

PRESIDENT Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. said he and his family have taken the MRT-3 several times already, adding that they usually opt for the train to avoid heavy traffic.

In the latest episode of his BBM Podcast released Friday, Marcos said his MRT ride last June 1 wasn’t new to him.

“First of all, this wasn’t the first time I rode the MRT. We actually use it a lot—me, my family, and even our friends—because it’s faster. Traffic is just not practical. It can take you two hours just to get to Cubao,” he said.

The President also shared how he personally experienced the usual situation inside the train—crowded and difficult to move.

“I’ve felt that. One time we rode the MRT and once you’re in, as long as your hand is holding on to something, you can’t move it anymore. You’re just stuck. I talked to some passengers and they said, ‘Sir, that’s really how it is every day,’” he added.

Earlier, Marcos launched the Family Pass 1+3 program in time for National Family Day. Under the promo, groups of four—families or barkadas—can ride the MRT-3, LRT-1, and LRT-2 every Sunday starting June 1, 2025, by paying for only one passenger.
