PRESIDENT Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Wednesday ordered the Metro Manila Council (MMC) to halt the implementation of heightened fines for illegal parking.
Marcos dismissed MMC’s proposal to raise fines for illegal parking from ₱1,000 to ₱4,000, as outlined in Joint Traffic Circular No. 01.
The President said he believes that Filipinos are inherently disciplined, so it is important to focus on fostering discipline rather than imposing harsher penalties. (GP)
