A NETIZEN has gone viral for urging mangkukulam and mambabarang to “unite” against corrupt politicians.
In a Facebook Reel posted Sept. 21, “Arnex” urged practitioners of folk magic to act against those he described as “mandarambong, magnanakaw, at mga corrupt.”
“Ako po ay nananawagan sa lahat ng mangkukulam at mambabarang sa Pilipinas,” Arnex said. “Magkaisa po tayo, makiisa po tayo. Patunayan naman po natin na totoo tayo. Natatalo na tayo ng mga mandarambong, magnanakaw, at mga corrupt. Kilos-kilos din po.”
He later clarified in the comments that his message was meant as satire and a call for civic action. “On a serious note, ipagdasal natin ang ating bayan. Patuloy na lumaban, maki-isa at kalampagin ang gobyerno hangga’t may managot at maparusahan. Kailangan natin ng hustisya. We deserve better. God bless the Philippines.”
In an interview, Arnex, a flight attendant and entrepreneur, said his viral post was meant to channel public frustration into unity.
“Masakit para sa isang ordinaryong Pilipinong lumalaban ng patas sa buhay na makita ang harap-harapan at garapalang pagnanakaw sa pera ng taumbayan,” he said. “We cannot stay silent or turn a blind eye. We need accountability!”
He added that the call to “mangkukulam” and “mambabarang” was symbolic. “It’s about reminding everyone that the true power has always been and will always be in the hands of a united Filipino people,” he said.
