A magnitude 5.2 earthquake struck the waters off Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte at 4:14 p.m. Friday, October 17, 2025, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).
Instrumental intensities were recorded in the following areas:
Intensity III – Bacarra, Ilocos Norte
Intensity II – Claveria, Cagayan; San Nicolas, Ilocos Norte; Sinait, Ilocos Sur
Intensity I – City of Vigan, Ilocos Sur
Phivolcs said aftershocks are expected following the quake.
