A magnitude 5.0 earthquake struck Zambales late Saturday afternoon, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported.
The tremor occurred at 5:32 p.m. on October 11, 2025, with its epicenter located 19 kilometers northeast of Cabangan, Zambales, at a depth of 100 kilometers.
According to Phivolcs, the quake was felt at Intensity III in Cabangan and Iba, Zambales, while Intensity II shaking was recorded in parts of Bulacan, La Union, Nueva Ecija, Pangasinan, Tarlac, and other nearby areas.
The earthquake was tectonic in origin, and no damage or aftershocks are expected, Phivolcs added.
Residents in affected areas briefly reported light shaking, but authorities have not received any reports of casualties or structural damage as of posting.
