A magnitude 4.5 earthquake struck Occidental Mindoro early on Christmas morning, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported.
The quake hit at 7:32 a.m. on December 25, 2024, west of Paluan, Occidental Mindoro.
According to Phivolcs’ bulletin, the earthquake was tectonic in origin and had a depth of 22 kilometers.
The tremor was felt at Intensity II in Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro, Phivolcs said.
Authorities confirmed there were no expected damages or aftershocks from the earthquake, providing reassurance to residents in affected areas.
