Llamas: Not all Makapili wear sacks, some wear wigs

POLITICAL analyst and former presidential adviser Ronald Llamas stirred discussion online after posting a cryptic remark about alleged pro-China politicians.

In a Facebook post on Saturday, February 7, Llamas wrote: “Not all Makapili wear sacks over their heads. Some wear wigs.”

He followed this with a statement asserting Philippine sovereignty over disputed territories: “The Kalayaan Island Group is ours. Make the China apologists pay.”

While Llamas did not name anyone, Sen. Rodante Marcoleta was repeatedly mentioned by netizens in the comment section.

Marcoleta had earlier faced backlash for remarks suggesting that the Kalayaan Island Group (KIG) lies outside the country’s exclusive economic zone (EEZ), which critics interpreted as proposing to give up the territory.

In a message to journalist Joseph Morong, Marcoleta clarified that he never suggested surrendering the KIG.

“I did not say we should give up the KIG. These people are deliberately abbreviating the context of what I actually discussed during the CA hearing,” he said.
