A CONTENT creator has drawn widespread criticism online after posting videos that showed him strutting like a fashion model inside two of Mindanao’s most prominent mosques.
The videos were shot inside the Pink Mosque in Datu Saudi Ampatuan, Maguindanao del Sur, and the Grand Mosque in Cotabato City.
In the clips, the vlogger can be seen striking poses and walking as if on a runway, accompanied by background music.
The stunt immediately sparked outrage among Muslim Filipinos, who said the act was a clear display of disrespect toward the sacred nature of the mosques.
“Bakit bawal ang pagrampa, sayaw o pagkendeng sa loob o paligid ng Masjid?” one online commenter asked rhetorically, before explaining that a mosque is a place of worship, not performance.
Some commenters emphasized that the issue was not about the vlogger’s gender identity, but about his actions inside a place of worship.
Others pointed out that the use of upbeat background music further violated Islamic etiquette.
Some Muslims have since called on the content creator to publicly apologize, saying the vlog promotes misunderstanding and trivializes Islamic practices. As of this writing, the video remains online.
