INIHAYAG ng Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astromical Services Administration (PAGASA) na pormal nang nagtapos ang La Niña phenomenon.
“Most of the climate models predict that neutral (neither La Niña nor El Niño) is favored from March through June this year with an increased likelihood of a transition to El Niño (warm phase) thereafter,” sabi ng PAGASA.
Idinagdag ng weather bureau na bagamat nagtapos na ang La Niña, posibleng maranasan pa rin ang malalakas na pag-ulan sa susunod na mga buwan.
“El Niño, on the other hand, increases the likelihood of below normal rainfall conditions, which could have negative effects, such as dry spells and droughts in some areas in the country,” sabi ng PAGASA.
