THE camp of Albuera, Leyte Mayor Kerwin Espinosa denied on Sunday reports that he was rushed to a Manila hospital after being shot.
His camp said Espinosa went to the Manila Doctor’s Hospital for a check-up and scheduled surgery on his right hand.
His check-up and treatment for an old injury to his right hand had been scheduled for some time, GMA Integrated News said, quoting Espinosa’s lawyer, Raymund Palad.
Espinosa, who was earlier wounded in an ambush while campaigning last April, has since returned to public life. His lawyer stressed that the latest claims of another attack are unfounded.
