THE Kanlaon Volcano emitted ash for about 30 minutes on Sunday morning, October 12, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).
The ash emission occurred from the volcano’s summit crater between 6:47 a.m. and 7:17 a.m.
In a time-lapse video released by the agency, grayish plumes can be seen rising to 300 meters above the crater before drifting southeast.
Phivolcs said Kanlaon remains under Alert Level 2, meaning entry into the four-kilometer permanent danger zone and flying aircraft near the volcano are strictly prohibited.
The activity was recorded through an IP camera installed at the Kanlaon Volcano Observatory in Canlaon City, the agency added.
