HALF of Filipino families consider themselves poor, according to the latest survey by Social Weather Stations (SWS) conducted from April 23 to 28.
The self-rated poverty figure dipped by five percentage points compared to a previous survey conducted earlier in April.
SWS attributed the decline to lower poverty numbers in Metro Manila and Mindanao. Visayas posted the highest self-rated poverty at 67%, while Metro Manila had the lowest at 33%.
Meanwhile, 8% of respondents said they were on the “borderline” between being poor and not poor, and 42% said they did not consider themselves poor.
