ACTOR Gabby Eigenmann sustained a minor injury near his eyebrow while filming a fight scene for “Encantadia Chronicles: Sang’gre,” GMA Network’s upcoming fantasy series.
During a choreographed sword routine with a female co-star, the prop sword accidentally hit him in the forehead area, just above his eyebrow. Although the cut was not deep, it was open and required medical attention.
“Sa isang fight scene ko, meron kaming routine na ginawa. Pagtapat ng espada namin, dapat maghihiwalay, eh, pero nadulas,” Gabby shared.
“I can’t blame naman ‘yung ka-fight scene ko kasi pagod, she’s a girl. Kahit naman ako, pagod na rin ako that time. Nadulas! Tumama sa akin—sa noo, malapit sa kilay. Kailangan siyang tahiin. Four stitches sa eyebrows.”
He initially thought the wound could be treated quickly on set so filming could continue.
“Akala nga namin nu’ng inano ng medic, sabi ko, ‘Idikit n’yo na lang. Para tama na, para tapos na, para makapag-taping pa ako.’ Naku, sabi, kailangan dalhin kasi nakabuka. Sige, okay,” he added.
Eigenmann said the actress involved apologized after the scene.
“Super sorry naman siya after the scene. Naiintindihan ko naman kasi nangyayari talaga ‘yung mga ganitong aksidente sa taping.”
He added that the actress sent him a peace offering the next day.
“The next day, pinadalhan ako ng something, naibsan. At ang sarap!” the actor said.
