PRESIDENT Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. will spend Christmas with his family at Malacañan Palace in Manila, Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Acting Secretary Cesar Chavez said Wednesday.
“[He and his family will be in] Manila. That’s the plan,” Chavez said when asked about Marcos’ plan for Christmas.
This is the third time the First Family will celebrate Christmas at Malacañan.
During the Christmas tree lighting ceremony at the Malacañang grounds on Dec. 1, Marcos said every Filipino deserves to celebrate the yuletide season despite the challenges they face.
The public may visit Malacañang for the traditional Misa De Gallo and other holiday activities for Filipinos.
Dubbed “Tara sa Palasyo,” the Palace grounds are open to the public until Dec. 23 from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. for the Christmas activity featuring live music, food and rides.
Mass goers may attend the Misa De Gallo from Dec. 16 to 24 from 4 a.m. to 5 a.m.
They may also enjoy the native Christmas delicacies like “kakanin” (native food) and hot chocolate after the mass. (PNA)
