Ex-PDEA chief: Morales is ‘STL’ or ‘storytelling liar’

DIONISIO Santiago, former head of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), described former agent, Jonathan Morales, as “STL” or “storytelling liar”.

At the second hearing of the Senate committee on public order on Tuesday on the alleged leaked PDEA pre-operational reports linking certain personalities to illegal drugs, Santiago said he had worked with Morales when he was the PDEA chief between 2006 and 2010.

Morales joined the agency in 2009.

“Alam n’yo, Mr. Chairman, ako director general ako. Nandun sila, doormat sila e… nandun sya sa baba, imbestigator sya…Ang  nagtataka ako, bakit he’s all over.  Bakit nandun ka, nilalampasan mo lahat ng tao?”  he said when  Estrada  asked  about the integrity of Morales.

“Nakakadiretso nga siya hanggang  Malacanang daw e. Walang chain of command na sinusundan, he’s all over,”  Santiago added.

The former PDEAD chief said Morales even criticized his leadership and those who succeeded him.

“E lahat kami may problema, siya lang ang tama. E magaling e. Alam n’yo ang akala nya  magaling siya, siya ang tama. Kaya kami walang karapatan lahat,”  he said.

Santiago said Morales was also known for being a liar even among friends.

“Huwag kang magagalit, Jonathan,  ang tawag ng mga kaibigan namin sa iyo STL. Wag mong kakalimutang STL. Kilala ka nila personally,  STL ‘professional story-telling liar’,”  he said.
