THE Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) reminded employers to ensure the safety and health of their workers amid the dangerous heat indices being recorded across the country.
Thus, Laguesma renewed the agency’s call for employers and business owners to adhere to the Labor Advisory 8-2023, outlining safety practices in sweltering heat cases.
The recommendations include using temperature-appropriate uniforms and personal protective equipment, adjusting rest breaks or work locations, providing free and adequate drinking water, adopting flexible work arrangements, and ensuring that the workplace is properly ventilated. (GP)
