Dizon: Co’s P100-B insertion allegation ‘illogical’

PUBLIC Works Secretary Vince Dizon has expressed doubts over former Ako Bicol party-list representative Zaldy Co’s claim that President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. was behind the alleged P100-billion budget insertion.

Co recently broke his silence and accused Marcos, former House Speaker Martin Romualdez, and several Cabinet officials of orchestrating the supposed insertion in the national budget.

But Dizon said the allegation was illogical, noting that it was Marcos himself who exposed the irregularities in the flood control program.

“Kung involved ka, bakit ikaw mismo magpapasabog? Bakit mo gagawin lahat ng ito? Bakit mo ibubuo ang isang independent commission?” Dizon said.

Malacañang has likewise dismissed Co’s accusations. Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said the former lawmaker was merely deflecting.

“Dahil lumiliit na ang mundo ni Co, kailangan niyang umiwas at iiwas ang sarili, at mag-name drop kahit walang katibayan at laway lang ang puhunan,” Castro said.
