Digong ligtas sa kasong grave threats

IBINASURA ng Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office and reklamong grave threats na isinampa kay dating Pangulong Duterte ni ACT Teachers Party-list Rep. France Castro.

Sa resolusyon na pinirmahan nitong Enero 9, 2024, sinabi ng prosecutor na wala itong nakikitang sapat na ebidensiya para ituloy ang kaso kay Duterte sa korte.

Hindi anya napatunayan ng kampo ni Castro na direktang nagbanta ang dating pangulo kay Castro sa sinasabing mga televised at livestreamed program ni Duterte sa SMNI.

Ayon pa sa resolusyon, “Duterte would have just directly and immediately pronounced the threats”. Ngunit ang sinasabing threats ay pabiro o sarkastikong sinasabi nito habang nakikipag-diskusyon sa kanyang co-host.

“Besides, the Office finds it quite unusual, if not ridiculous for a person to make public pronouncement of death threats…especially so considering that such individual, like [the] respondent, is already in an advance age and not anymore immune from criminal prosecution,” dagdag pa ng resolusyon.
