SINABI ni Migrant Workers Secretary Susan Ople na nakatakdang ilunsad ng kagawaran ang isang digital app para sa OFW Pass, isang digital alternative ng Overseas Employment Certificate (OEC).
Idinagdag ni Ople na isinasailalim na sa testing Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) ang DMW mobile app bago ang pormal na paggamit nito.
“We acknowledge the help and support being provided by the DICT to make sure that our mobile app will be secure,” sabi ni Ople.
Idinagdag ni Ople na ito ay bilang tugon sa panawagan ng mga Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) para sa isang alternatibo sa OEC na may bayad na P100.
“President Marcos made it clear that the OFW Pass should be free in honor of the huge sacrifices being made and contributions of our modern-day heroes to the needs of their respective families and the Philippine economy as a whole,” dagdag ni Ople.
