PINAULANAN ng water cannons ng walong beses ng China Coast Guard ang Filipino civilian ship na nagsasagawa ng humanitarian mission sa Scarborough Shoal Sabado ng umaga.
Sa report ng National Task Force on West Philippine Sea, ginamitan ng CCG ng water cannons ang mga sasakyang pandagat ng Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) na Datu Sanday, Datu Bankaw at Datu Tamblot na magsasagawa ng misyon para sa mga mangingisda sa Scarborough Shoal.
“The water cannons had been used at least eight times at the time of reporting,” ayon sa NTF-WPS sa isang kalatas. Samantala, itinuloy pa rin ng BFAR ang misyon nito.
“Water cannon action has resulted in significant damage to BFAR vessel Datu Tamblot’s communication and navigation equipment, as it was directly and deliberately targeted by the CCG,” dagdag pa ng pahayag ng NTF-WPS.
“To prevent the distribution of humanitarian support is not only illegal but also inhumane,” ayon pa sa task force.
