THE top brass of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) once again dominated the list of highest-paid non-elected government executives in 2023, a Commission on Audit (COA) report showed.
However, the COA list, which was based on the latest Report of Salaries and Allowances (ROSA), excluded the salaries and allowances received by the country’s senators and congressmen.
BSP Governor Eli Remolona topped the list with salaries and allowances amounting to P35,478,813.42.
Remolona was followed by his predecessor, Felipe Medalla, who received P25 million in salaries and allowances in 2023.
Rounding up the top 10 government officials
with highest salaries and allowances in 2023 are: BSP Deputy Governor Chuchi Fonacier with P26 million, BSP Monetary Board member Anita Aquino with P25 million, BSP Monetary Board member Victor Tolentino with P24 million, BSP Senior Assistant Governor Edna Villar with P23 million, BSP Senior Assistant Governor Elmore Capule with P22 million, BSP Senior Assistant Governor Johnny Noe E. Ravalo with P21 million and BSP Senior Assistant Governor Iluminada Sicat with P21 million.
