BROADCAST journalist Bernadette Sembrano warned travelers to stay alert even in top tourist destinations after her husband’s bag was stolen aboard a first-class train in Switzerland.
“We got pickpocketed in Switzerland,” she wrote on Instagram, recounting how a man boarded during a brief stopover and quietly made off with her husband Emilio Aguinaldo IV’s backpack.
The theft was discovered only after the train had left the station.
Sembrano said she shared the experience to remind the public that even in “the most beautiful places,” such incidents can occur.
Despite the mishap, the couple still enjoyed their vacation, which included visits to “Crash Landing On You” filming spots in Interlaken and scenic Zermatt.
The post drew sympathy from fellow travelers, many of whom shared similar experiences in Europe, where pickpocketing remains a persistent issue.
