KINONDENA ng Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) ang ginawang pag-atake ng mga rebeldeng Houthi sa merchant vessel na MV Tutor sa Red Sea.
Sa kalatas, kinumpirma ng DFA na ilang tripulanteng Pinoy ang sakay ng MV Tutor nang salpukin ito ng unmanned surface vessel (USV) ng pro-Iranian group ng Yemen.
Dahil sa pag-atake, binaha at napinsala ang engine room.
Hindi naman sinabi ng DFA kung ilang Pinoy ang sakay ng Greek-owned and operated Liberian-flagged vessel.
“The Philippine government will take all necessary measures to secure the safety and well-being of the Filipino crew on board and ensure justice,” ayon sa DFA.
“We call on all UN member states to protect the human rights of seafarers. We remain steadfast in ensuring the safety and welfare of all Filipino seafarers worldwide,” dagdag ng kagawaran.
