HINIRANG ni Pangulong Bongbong Marcos si Sugar Regulatory Administration (SRA) Board Member at Farmers’ Representative Pablo Azcona bilang bagong Acting Administrator at Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
Pinalitan ni Azcona si dating SRA Administrator David John Thaddeus Alba na naging epekibo ang pagbibitiw noong Abril 15, 2023 sa harap ng kontrobersiyal na importasyon ng 440,000 metric tons (MT) asukal.
Ayon kay Azconapra, magiging prayoridad niya ang pagpapalago ng produksyon ng asukal.
“Perhaps the president felt that as a board member representing the farmers, I am capable and up to the challenge of being the SRA administrator and I will make sure it will not come out that he made the wrong choice. I will try my best,” dagdag ni Azcona.
