BUSINESSMAN Charlie “Atong” Ang is set to file multiple charges today against whistleblower Julie “Dondon” Patidongan over allegations linking him to the disappearance of cockfighting enthusiasts.
According to his lawyer, Lorna Kapunan, Ang will file the complaint before the Mandaluyong City Prosecutor’s Office. The charges include grave threats, grave coercion, intimidation, harassment, and slander.
Patidongan made the accusations in an exclusive interview aired on 24 Oras, where he claimed Ang and actress Gretchen Barretto were involved in the case of the missing sabungeros.
Ang’s camp has denied the claims, calling them false, baseless, and malicious.
He is also pursuing a separate complaint against Patidongan and Alan “Brown” Bantiles for conspiracy to commit attempted robbery, grave threats, slander, and incriminating an innocent person.
Ang said the accusations had seriously damaged his reputation and caused distress to his family. He maintained he has no involvement in the alleged crimes and has cooperated with authorities since the investigation began.
He appealed to the public and media to refrain from spreading misinformation and to respect due process.
