LAYA na mula sa house arrest sa Timor-Leste si dating Negros Oriental Rep. Arnolfo Teves Jr., ayon sa kanyang abogado na si Ferdinand Topacio.
Pinalaya si Teves base na rin sa kondisyon na ibinigay sa kanya ng mga Timorese authorities, pahayag ni Topacio.
“We confirm the published reports appearing on Timor Leste (TL) media – which have reached our country – to the effect that Rep. Arnolfo Teves has been ordered released from house arrest by the tribunal conducting extradition proceedings relative to the request made by the Philippine government,” Topacio pahayag ni Topacio.
Isa sa mga kondisyon na ibinigay ay kailangang mag-report ng regular si Teves sa court officer at .
“Otherwise, he has been restored to full liberty in accordance with the order of the TL high court’s voiding of the preventing detention order due to defects in the extradition request,” dagdag pa ng abogado.
Isinailalim sa house arrest ang dating kongresista simula noong Hunyo 13.
Si Teves ang itinuturong mastermind sa pagpatay kay Negros Oriental Governor Roel Degamo noong 2023.
