DISMISSED Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo has been transferred from the Pasig City Jail to the Correctional Institution for Women (CIW) in Mandaluyong City following her conviction for qualified human trafficking.
The Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) said Guo, along with coaccused Rachel Joan Carreon and Jamielyn Cruz, was officially received by CIW at 10:48 p.m. on Dec. 5.
Guo is serving a life sentence and a P2-million fine after a Pasig court found her guilty over activities uncovered inside an illegal Philippine offshore gaming operator (Pogo) hub in Bamban.
“The transfer was made by virtue of the commitment order issued by the Regional Trial Court, Branch 167, Pasig City,” BJMP spokesperson Jail Supt. Jayrex Bustinera said.
Upon arrival at CIW, the three detainees were placed under a five-day protocol quarantine at the Reception Diagnostic Center, where they will undergo medical examinations. Afterward, they will proceed to a 60-day orientation and evaluation before assignment to their dormitories at the Maximum Security Camp.
Photos released by the BJMP and the Bureau of Corrections showed Guo being escorted by jail personnel into the facility as part of the turnover process.
