VICE President Sara Duterte visited her father, former president Rodrigo Duterte, in The Hague following the International Criminal Court’s (ICC) rejection of his plea for interim release.
In a brief statement on Monday, Dec. 1, the Vice President said she personally relayed to her father the public’s messages and prayers.
“Natanggap n’ya lahat daw ng messages n’yo, tanggap rin n’ya ang mga prayers ninyo,” she said.
She described their conversation as “good,” noting that most of it focused on politics and developments in the Philippines, with only a small portion touching on family matters.
“Maganda ‘yong usapan namin sa politika… karamihan sa politics at kung ano ‘yung nangyayari sa bayan,” she said.
The visit comes days after the ICC dismissed the former president’s request for temporary liberty. Duterte remains detained in The Hague while facing charges of crimes against humanity linked to the deadly anti-drug campaign during his administration.
